Established in 1929, Academy of Art University is the largest private art and design school in the nation. Every spring the Academy's Career Services invites industry leaders from across the nation to privately view outstanding student work and to help facilitate graduates in landing some of the most coveted jobs in their field. The Annual Spring Show has drawn notables from Walt Disney, Electronic Arts, Ford Motor Company, Pixar, Oddworld Inhabitants and BMW/Designworks USA.
The Academy's high professional and industry standards result in an exceptional job placement rate of 80%, with many graduates going on to successful careers with companies such as: LucasArts, Industrial Light + Magic, Dreamworks SKG, Silicon Graphics, Adobe Systems, Sega America, Apple Computer, LucasFilm, Red Sky Films, Battle Botts/Comedy Central, Game Pro, Young & Rubicam, Louis Vuitton, Nike, Burberry, Van Heusen and BCBG too name a few.
The City by the Golden Gate is known worldwide as a mecca for creativity. That atmosphere surrounds each of our citywide mini campuses. Interior Architecture and Design and MFA Architecture can be found amid the traditional excitement of Fisherman's Wharf. The Photography, Illustration/2D Animation and Fine Art Departments and Student Galleries are nestled in the bustling Sutter/Stockton/Taylor Streets campus cluster.
The Foundations and Industrial Design departments, and one of the largest photo studios on any college campus, are located in the massive Warehouse campus on Van Ness Avenue.
